SICIS, Italian art mosaic factory presented their 2012 jewellery collection at Baselworld 2012 in Switzerland. Luxury handcrafted micro mosaic and gems jewellery has been launched to celebrate company’s 25th anniversary. Combining precious stones and ancient micro-mosaic technique, renowned manufacturer has created extremely evocative jewellery with splendid radiant light and color.
Mosaic has always been the ink that writes our story, following the same thread Sicis is now reinterpreting micro mosaic, one of the most ancient and elaborate techniques in jewellery manufacturing, said Mr Maurizio Leo Placuzzi, founder and President of SICIS.
Inspired with the ‘700 antique tradition of micro mosaics, every piece in collection is created using tiny strands or rods of coloured mosaic tiles, pieced together to create patterns, shapes and texture.
The SICIS Jewels collection includes necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, and pendants as well as watches, brooches and cufflinks created in yellow and white gold and precious gems. Themes include flowers, the cubist movement, animals and marine life, with pieces like flowers in spring colors, light-eyed tigers, and hypnotic butterflies.
Prices for the jewellery pieces will start at approximately €2,000 ($2,650) for a small butterfly pendant at retail, while the Rose Carpet necklace costs €60,000 ($79,500) at wholesale. [SICIS]
