Luxury Columbus Sport Hybrid Superyacht, which was ordered by a Russian buyer last year, is now ready to be delivered. This impressive superyacht has been carefully studied by the shipyard and the owner with the aim to realize a yacht with an elegant and refined style. Originally a 38m yacht, it has now grown to 40m, with an 8.20 metre beam, and offers three decks and and impressive spacious interior volumes. Three guest cabins, plus the Owner suite, offer space for a total of eight people plus three crew cabins and one captains suite.
Selected by the owner, interior designers Hot Lab, have used a combination of of warm materials with soft colours, avoiding any strong contrast and creating the feeling of a home on the water. Marbles such as Breccia Sarda and Emperador Dark will be complemented by teak, sicomoro wood and grey durmast, and the use of leather, polished stainless steel and fine fabrics will provide textural interest. Exceptionally large windows in the main saloon together with sliding windows and doors and opening bulwarks, allows expansive views of the sea.
All made in aluminium with the aim to reduce the weight and consumption, this superyacht has naval architecture by Hydro Tec, and is being built under RINA classification in compliance with MCA. The most environmental friendly feature is the hybrid system itself. It enables the yacht to run at a low speed of 7.5 knots on two generators with the main engines turned off, thus reducing NOx and SOx emissions. Virtually silent too, the electric engines are ideal for night time navigation.
