Several years ago, watch that spells out the time was the subject of science fiction movies. Now, thanks to German studio Biegert & Funk, it became a reality. They have created QLOCKTWO W – world’s first wristwatch in words.
Instead of numbers, the QLOCKTWO W lights up with words to tell you what time it is. It is made of a grid of 110 letters that light up on the press of a side button. When the button hasn’t been pressed, the watch stays dark. This wristwatch displays the time in five-minute intervals (i.e. It is five past two). The dots at the bottom measure the exact minutes — so, for example, five past two plus one dot means 2:06. Additional presses of the button will reveal the calendar day, and then the seconds.
QLOCKTWO W by Biegert & Funk
The square 35mm watch is crafted of brushed stainless steel (natural or black), and features LED technology. You can also choose between black leather or natural rubber strap. The company will also offer the watch in both English and German language versions. They will retail at approximately €550 (approx. $720) each. It will be available in autumn 2012.
