Victoria Beckham has officially launched her limited edition baby Range Rover Evoque at the Beijing international auto show, two days ago. Former Spice Girl, has created this luxury car that bears her name, in collaboration with Land Rover whose bosses asked her: Tell us what you want, what you really, really want. And apparently she said, but her wish will cost £79,995 ($105,500).
At the launch in Beijing, Beckham stated: I am very excited to be working with Land Rover as I have an enormous amount of respect for the brand. I’ve always driven a Range Rover, for me they are the epitome of quality and luxury.
Special Edition Range Rover Evoque by Victoria Beckham will feature hand-finished matt grey paint with contrasting gloss black finishes on the roof, side wheel arches and wheels, which are 20in forged alloys with rose-gold accents. Victoria spent 18 months working alongside designers to create the interior of the new vehicle, creating something very sleek and very stylish.
When I first started working with the design team on the Evoque special edition I did a lot of research, and created mood boards to show the team my love of timeless and classic design. I looked at yachts, luxury jets, classic cars, movies, personalities and fashion, Beckham said.
Inside, there is a soft, vintage tan leather, bold baseball-style stitching chosen by Beckham and matching a four-piece leather luggage set, as well as a hand-stitched leather wallet signed by Mrs Beckham, also with rose gold accents. The rose-gold highlights inside and outside the car take their inspiration from the colour and shape of a favoured man’s large-faced 400 Daytona Rolex watch which she often wears on her slender wrist. She has even ordered soft and deep-pile luxury mohair floor mats to reflect childhood memories of taking off her shoes to run her own bare feet through the shag-pile carpets of her father’s Rolls-Royce.
It’s the small detail that makes all the difference… I want everyone who gets into this car to feel special and empowered by its quality and craftsmanship. I like that it feels luxurious but also has quite a classic edge to it as well as a contemporary feel.
As we reported a couple days ago, this Evoque baby off-roader is powered by a 2.0L Si4 turbo (aka 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged Ford EcoBoost) making 240-hp. Mated to a 6-speed automatic gear-box, the new Evoque goes to a top speed of 135 mph and allows it to sprint from rest to 60mph in just 7.1 seconds.
This new Victoria Beckham special edition three-door Range Rover Evoque is limited to 200 units worldwide, and will begin deliveries in October.
