Way back in 1492, Christopher Columbus started his first expedition using The Santa Maria. Now, 520 years later, Swiss luxury watch-maker Ulysee Nardin pays trubute to that historically important moment by launching Classico Limited Edition Santa Maria – new timepiece inspired by the merchant ship. The Santa Maria, which represents the fearlessness was flagship vessel, regal and daring. Larger than her two sisters, La Niña and La Pinta, the Santa Maria is one of the most important ships in history.
Ulysse Nardin Classico Santa Maria is limited to just 30 pieces, each in 18-karat rose gold and white gold in a case measuring 40mm with special AR-coated sapphire crystal. Every detail has been carefully crafted by Ulysse Nardin artisans in vivid color and to exacting specifications. This colorful watch is painstakingly created, requiring more than 50 working hours and 26 baking processes to complete each handmade cloisonné dial. On the dial is a backdrop of deep blue that frames a depiction of the ship, with a splash of water coming up from the greenish blue sea to meet the deep grain of the wooden cargo ship. The watch has been finished with Bracelet Alligator strap.
This self-winding watch is powered by the UN caliber 815 movement that has been COSC Chronometer certified and has a power reserve of 42 hours.
