London-based designer Lee Broom has shown us that an ordinary bulb can become a sophisticated decorative element. In association with the only producer of full lead crystal left in the UK – Cumbria Crystal, Broom has created Crystal Bulb. Inspired by delicate craftsmanship of crystal cutting and designer’s Decanterlight range, Crystal Bulb is perfect combination of industrial influences and decorative qualities.
Each bulb is individually delicately hand blown and later cut with a classic crystal pattern. It can be installed in any standard ceiling, wall or lamp fitting. Also, can be used both separately or in groups, and also with a light shade which creates interesting light effects.
The bulb is 14.0 cm wide and 9.0 cm in height. These energy efficient, dimmable, G9 Halogen bulb of 25W has a life span of about 2,000 hours. Crystal Bulb shell can be removed from fitting to enable the G9 Halogen bulb to be replaced.
The Bulb will be availably early July 2012. It is available separately priced at £109 ($174), or with a pendant fitting £189 ($300), offering options of a chrome or brushed gold finish. Each cable fitting comes in a silk flex tone matched to the fitting and a ceiling rose.
