Dinner in the Sky event will provide for more than 600 guests to feel charm of high cuisine in Brussels. After Paris, London, Dubai, Las Vegas, Sydney and Monaco, the Dining Event company, which specializes in culinary events, has opted for Belgium’s capital as a part of Brusselicious 2012 – a year-long food festival extravaganza.
Dinner in the Sky is expected to be the most gastronomic and breathtaking event of Brusselicious. For four weeks, from June 4th to July 1st, flying restaurant will carry guests 30m above the ground at one of the four key tourist sites in the city. Each site will host Dinner in the Sky during 1 week and each day one of the 7 chefs will treat 22 guests to a delicious lunch and 2 dinners high in the Brussels’ sky.
Hanging over the city’s Royal Palace (June 4-10), Atomium (June 11-17), Esplanade of Cinquantenaire (June 18-24) and the Bois de la Cambre (June 25-July 1), this restaurant with a sky setting will serve dishes concocted by seven renowned Brussels-based chefs: Yves Mattagne, Lionel Rigolet, Pascal Devalkeneer, Giovanni Bruno, David Martin, Luigi Ciciriello and Patrick Vandecasserie.
Other festival highlights include a meal on a gourmet tram, giant food sculptures of food such as chocolate and brussel sprouts and a tour to find the city’s best hot chips.
What must be mentioned and what is interesting is that the whole concept Dinner in the Sky was created exactly in Belgium in 2004, by local entrepreneur David Ghysles. Since its humble beginnings, Dinner in the Sky has grown to over 35 countries and has done more over 1,000 events. Originally planned for business parties, it now does everything from clubbing to weddings in the sky.
