US luxury goods firm Hammacher Schlemmer has created a toy for superyacht owners, named Flying Hovercraft. The super hovercraft is able to glide over land and water and soar through the air. This contraption is available for $190,000 per unit at Hammacher’s main internet page.
Flying Hovercraft is able to fit 3 adult passengers (660-lbs of total weight) and it operating in fresh- or saltwater and up to 30% inclines over sand, mud, grass, swamp, desert, ice, and snow. It features a 130 horsepower twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and can hit speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
Technically, Flying Hovercraft comes with a lightweight fiberglass and PVC hull and is propelled by a 130 HP twin cylinder gasoline engine and its wings. Alongside a horizontal elevator, the 60-inch long wood and carbon fiber propeller, plus the 1100 RPM lift fan, combine their efforts to elevate the hovercraft up to twenty feet in the air. It boasts a wood and carbon composite structure, ensuring that it remains light as well as sturdy, with an upper half sporting a yellow shade and a lower end in carbon black.
