Following an excellent reception of two previous models, the Black Night RM 010 and RM 016, Richard Mille made the decision to give its more popular RM 030 Black Night treatment. Limited to just 25 pieces worldwide, the new RM 030 Black Night will be worn by just a few, who have a taste for exquisite beauty, and who likely have a full wallet to afford that.
The revolutionary element of this watch is its powering calibre RMAR1, an automatic movement that features Mille’s declutchable rotor system. This small turning rotor ensures that the winding barrel is automatically disconnected from the rotor’s winding mechanism at the moment when the spring is fully wound, thus avoiding high-tension winding and optimizing the functioning of the watch (“on/off” indicator).
Other features of the new RM 030 Black Night: it shares the same color-scheme as its predecessors, namely black with red highlights. It has the black DLC-finished titanium case, while the dial ring and other elements, such as the tip of the second hand, the declutchable rotor indicator and power reserve indicator have all been hit with splashes of red to create quite a striking contrast. This timepiece is presented on a black rubber strap complete with a black DLC-treated buckle.
Still, no word about pricing, but what is known is that new RM030 Black Night will be available this summer at RM retailers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia.
