Fiat 500L, launched internationally last week has become the first car which has its own “true espresso coffee machine.” World’s first In-Car Espresso Mashine is developed by famed Italian coffee maker Lavazza, especially for Fiat.
Espresso machine with its compact Lavazza A Modo Mio system that turns pre-packaged pods and water into a steaming cup of coffee is mounted in between the rear seats in a specially made cupholder that powers the coffee maker up as soon as it is inserted. This “Coffee Experience” kit comes with car coffee cups, a spoon holder and its own sugar container. The procedure is quite simple: just fill the Lavazza 500 base with water and pop it into the center cupholder. The heating element of device will boil the water, infuse the coffee grounds, and seconds later, you will have a piping hot cup of your favorite drink.
One media outlet says the kit will cost €250 (about $300). Unfortunately, don’t expect the espresso option to be offered in the U.S., when Fiat 500L arrives sometime in 2013. The same, new Fiat 500L goes on sale in Italy in October, and the rest of Europe shortly after.
