Jaeger-LeCoultre continued its seventeen-year old association with the Batman. Now, Swiss watchmaker, as a partner of Dark Knight trilogy, pays tribute to the latest blockbuster “The Dark Knight Rises” with a special edition Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 Watch. In the film, the character of Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale), philanthropist and billionaire industrialist, wears the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date.
A very similar limited edition Reverso Grande Taille series was created with the Batman logo engraved and lacquered on its solid case-back, when Joel Schumacher’s movie, “Batman Forever” was released in 1995. Seventeen years later, the watch is back in “The Dark Knight Rises,” reproduced in the form of the Reverso Grande Date, engraved and lacquered with the legendary Bat-Shield, which is only visible when it’s reversed.
The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 steel watch will be available in July in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s boutiques located in London, Geneva, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Still no word about the price or how many pieces will be made.
