Busan, the second largest metropolis in South Korea boasts not only as the home to the world’s largest department store, the Shinsegae Centum City, but also with the world’s largest cascading fountain. Placed in Nampo’s giant seaside Lotte Department Store, which is itself tourist attraction with a wonderful rooftop garden with views over the neighborhood, the world’s largest cascading fountain additionaly attracts admiring glances.
If you’re wondering what it means cascading, in this case the water drops from the ceiling with high precision to the smallish fountain below, followed by music. The five storeys fountain show kicks off every hour, creating an incredible sight, which lasts ten minutes. The top of the fountain is positioned four stories above the food court, in front of a multicoloured, glowing honeycomb structure. And, to be more impressive and mystical, this incredible fountain spell out the words “Lotte” and “Welcome to Busan” in both English and Hanguel.
