NeilPryde and BMW’s DesignworksUSA have been cooperating since 2010, and this year the result of their partnership is the third line of bike frames – new Bayamo and Bayamo+ (named for a Caribbean coastal wind), aimed at time-trial cyclists. New bikes are lightweight and high strength, with “wind-cheating aerodynamics.”
The bikes frame has been made using C6.7 carbon fiber, and it looks exceptionally thin from the side and from the rear, all that in order to minimize wind resistance and increase aerodynamic performance for time-trial cyclists. “Kamm” tail at the rear and character lines on the frame of this bike have been designed keeping in mind fluid dynamics and wind tunnel testing. All drivetrain and shifting cables are installed in Bayamo’s frame, that gives the bike a strong aero dynamic profile. The bikes also get an exclusive dropout mechanism that it is claimed enables precise positioning of the rear wheel, while the Bayamo+ gets a new proprietary QFit stem design that is adjustable for both height and ride angle.

The Bayamo will be priced at $2,750 while the Bayamo+ will be priced at $5,000. A complete time trial athlete bike package will be priced between $3,095 and $10,000.
