Since it was discovered in 1911 by historian Hiram Bingham, Machu Picchu has been very interesting destination for visiting, but at the same time very difficult to get there. Beside the fact that there is no roads lead directly from main points of entry – Lima and Cusco – to Machu Picchu, and if you manage to get there, the field may be compromised due to uncomfortable and exhausting journey. But, not any more. To celebrate 100 years since the discovery of Machu Picchu, Inca Rail has launched Presidental Service for passangers looking for privacy, luxury and comfort, while passing through the stunning Andean landscape before arriving in the mountains that host the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Inca Rail’s Presidential Service was conceived to introduce Machu Picchu’s visitors to Peruvian culture in all its magic: its history, music, flavours, and natural beauty, and all that in luxury and comfort wood-paneled train car, dubbed “Inca Princess”. Once when you enter in the car on your way to Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu, you’ll feel like a royalty. Inca Princess carriage with capacity for 8 persons, features its own private balcony, bar with an assorted variety of cocktails and drinks, accompanied by a spectacular buffet of hot and cold dishes, bathroom, large panoramic windows, and finely decorated room in which stand beautiful images of Peruvian culture.
The Presidential Service will cost you $10,000 and have to be booked at least 30 days in advance. For that price you’ll get an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and tea service.
