German automaker, Porsche is launching the most powerful Cayenne SUV to date as the Cayenne S Diesel. Its most powerful diesel model on the market, offers you a characteristic Porsche driving experience with perfect combination of dynamic performance, efficiency, and sound reminiscent of a sports car.
Unlike the standard Cayenne Diesel, which is powered by a 3.0-litre V6, new Cayenne S diesel is powered by the 4.2-litre eight-cylinder engine with biturbo charging produces 382 hp (281 kW) of power and a peak torque of 850 Nm, launching from 0-100km/h in just 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 252km/h. This is balanced by fuel consumption of 8.3 litres per 100 km and and carbon emissions of 218 g/km, which is achieved partly due to its auto start/stop system. The company claims the Cayenne S Diesel is the world’s only V8 diesel SUV to offer this feature. That fuel consumption helps the Cayenne S Diesel manage an impressive range of 745 miles (1,200km) from its 100-litre fuel tank.
The already exceptional driving experience is further enhanced by the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system, which gives the new vehicle benefits in terms of handling and precision of a rear-wheel drive car and the improve stability and traction of a front wheel drive car.
The exterior of the 2013 Cayenne S diesel features a larger silver brake calipers, black fins at the front air intakes – a trademark feature of all Cayennes with V8 power, and ‘diesel’ badges on the front wings.
Unfortunately, for now the 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel won’t be available in the US. It will debut at the upcoming 2012 Paris Auto Show and from January 2013, you’ll be able to purchase it across Europe, for $155,500!
