I just wrote about one painting to be sold at auction for $50 million, when I read that in just a £2.85 million ($3.68 million) can buy the whole island. There is no catch! Egyptian-Irish businessman Nadim Sadek, suffered financial difficulties and is selling his private island off Ireland’s west coast – Inish Turk Beg Island for £2.85million, reportedly less than half of what he spent turning it into his very own haven. One painting is equal to twelve islands – such an opportunity not to be missed!
Inish Turk Beg, one of the largest islands in Clew Bay, and the tallest offers spectacular views from anywhere. This stunning 65 acre island comes with luxury homes, 4 other small properties, stables and has easy access to the mainland. It also possesses a spectacular main residence that boasts a swimming pool, gymnasium, an astroturf sports pitch, a large-sized boat house, dance hall, cinema, games room and helicopter pad. The house has seven bedrooms and, including the other properties, more than 30 people can be accommodated in comfort.
According to Irish Central, this main building, known as the Island House, has won a Red Dot Design Award in 2005 for its unique and captivating design and is largely the central focus of Mr Sayek’s wondrously economical creation that has been this year lauded as the best place to live in Ireland.
Harriet Grant, from agents Knight Frank, said: “Inish Turk Beg island is a property of a lifetime and completely unique in Ireland and probably in the British Isles.
“It is an easily accessible island and although it’s in the Atlantic it is very sheltered. And the island itself has plenty of natural shelter. It is an extraordinary development in which no expense has been spared. The electricity and water come straight from the mainland and it also has broadband access.”
