Chopard, Swiss luxury watches and jewelry manufacturer and the Cannes International Film Festival have been cooperating for 15 years in a row. Since 1998, Chopard’s diamonds have dominated the Cannes carpet, so the same was also this year with the 65 colorful and eclectic fine jewelry pieces, part of its 2012 Red Carpet Collection. More than 70,000 hand-set stones went into the collection, designed by co-president and artistic director, Caroline Scheufele.
The most interesting jewelry piece, that have been born from the Chopard Haute Joaillerie ateliers is Delectable Diamond Granny Smith Apple Ring, designed as a tsavorite garnet ring shaped like a Granny Smith apple with the pavé-set brown diamond stem and tsavorite leaf. The entire process of creating this stunning ring took Chopard’s master artisans over a staggering 250 hours, and it boasts with 773 tsavorites weighing 55.47 carats and 238 pavé-set brown diamonds weighing 1.704 carats, set in 56.45g of white gold.
