A. Lange & Söhne, the German renowned watchmaker has now introduced ‘third’ edition of its highly acclaimed Lange Zeitwerk wristwatch. When it was first released three years ago, the Zeitwerk was the very first mechanical watch with digital display that used a constant force mechanism to achieve a precisely jumping numerals display. Since then, this winner of multiple awards is considered to be one of the company’s biggest success in a past few years.
An edition of the Lange Zeitwerk is exclusive collector’s item, since edition is limited to only 30 watches, which celebrate artisanship at its very finest. Lange Zeitwerk with the designation Handwerkskunst (“craftsmanship”), features a hand-engraved dial and a Glashütte lever escapement made of hardened 18 carat gold, a material used by Lange in the 19th century for its insensitivity to magnetism.
The 42mm case is made from platinum, while the white gold hand-engraved dial with elaborate tremblage finish is the perfect contrast with the simplicity of the time bridge, made of rhodium plated German silver, which lays across the dial, while the seconds sub-dial is sterling silver. Then, the curved “A. Lange & Söhne” logo and the power reserve indication are hand cut in relief, above the tremblage finish.
The official unveiling of this s special A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst, took place at the Dubai Mall on September 26th. It will be available exclusively at the seven A. Lange & Söhne boutiques worldwide. The price is still unknown.
