Dorrance ‘Dodo’ Hamilton , the heiress of Campbell Soups recently listed her oceanfront mansion in Newport Rhode Island for $15.75 million. Her worth is roughly $1.1 billion, but she decided to add a few more million, to still continue enjoying the luxury and glamour that she already used to.
Nestled on Price’s Neck Cove, one of the most sought-after addresses of America’s elite, “Wildacre,” Hamilton’s luxe property stands on an outcrop of rock facing seawards, and offers breathtaking views of the ocean. It was designed in 1902 by the famous architectural team of Irving Gill and Fredrick Law Olmstead in the shingle-style, which was popular during this period, especially due to the prevalence of the New England School of Architecture. This Iconic Oceanfron has been meticulously restored both inside and out by Hamilton over the past years.
Spread over an area of 8,200 square feet, “Wildacre” mansion features six bedrooms (a total of 14 rooms) and seven and a half baths. There are also a separate guesthouse for guests, as well as a library, a wine cellar, dining room, living room, 5 fireplaces, a billiards room, and an indoor swimming pool. The gardens of the estate are extravagant, and you’ll also find a greenhouse, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a dedicated private dock. When it comes to luxury four-wheelers, for them there are two spacious garages.
