New Jaguar F-type debuted at last week’s Paris Motor Show and instantly became the star of the event. Expected or not, more than 1,000 buyers have placed a deposit or have seriously expressed an interest in buying this follower of the legendary E-type. This two-seater, convertible sports car focused on delivering performance, agility and maximum driver reward, will be available in three models – the F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S and a wide range of colors!
“Jaguar is a founder member of the sports car segment with a rich sporting bloodline stretching over 75 years, and in the F-TYPE we’ve reignited that flame,” Adrian Hallmark, the brand’s global director, said. “The F-Type isn’t designed to be like anyone else’s sports car. It’s a Jaguar sports car: ultraprecise, powerful, sensual and, most of all, it feels alive.”
The F-Type is powered by Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine that generates 340 horsepower, whereas F-Type S takes the same supercharged 3.0-liter V6 experience to another level, with a range of dynamic enhancements and greater levels of performance to 380 horsepower. Third model, F-Type V8 S – which can reach 60mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186mph – boasts a newly developed Jaguar’s 5.0-liter V8 generating 495 horsepower.
“Every aspect of a sports car, dimensionally, allows us to create something that is visually exciting, visceral as well as physical,” Ian Callum, design director for Jaguar, said, adding that he expected the styling of the F-Type, like that of the E-Type, to “stand the test of time.”
Not surprising if 2013 will be Jaguar’s best selling year due to new the F-Type ability to be configured to fulfill what you desire most. The F-Ttype will be available for £58,500 ($94,500), the F-Type S for £67,500 ($109,000) and the F-Type V8 S for £79,950 ($129,100).
