Sotheby‘s Magnificent Jewellery and Jadeite, held in Hong Kong on October 9th, marked its autumn auction season with over $50 million in sales. The highlight at recently auction certainly was Nirav Modi Diamond Necklace that sold for $5.1 million.
Approximately 430 mm in lenght, this necklace composed of 36 graduated brilliant-cut diamonds, ranging from 1.25 to 6.19 carats, each spaced by a smaller brilliant-cut diamond, together weighing a whopping 88.88 carats mounted in platinum. All 36 round flawless “D” colour, Type IIA stones features excellent cut, polish and symmetry.
Also, one more notable piece of jewelry that has achieved an enviable price of $3.34 million is Cartier’s “pigeon blood” Burmese ruby ring, circa 1956. Ring composed of oval ruby weighing 9.08 carats with baguette diamonds together weighing approximately 4.00 carats, mounted in platinum.
