Last year, Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka has created world’s most expensive Gold Christmas Tree worth nearly $1.95 million. This year broke his own record designing 350 million yen ($4.2 million) Christmas Tree, also made of pure gold but with Disney motif.
Made of 40kg of pure gold, standing about 2.4 metres high and 1.2 metres in diameter, this year’s Christmas tree is decorated with 50 gold Disney characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell and Cinderella and draped with ribbons made of gold leaf. It took 10 craftsmen two months to complete.
Not everyone can afford $4.2 million Christmas tree. For all those, there is also a cheaper version, that features 20 Disney characters and stands 25cm high, and will cost you just 2 million yen ($24,430). This miniature has already found buyers, while larger version still waiting for its owner.
Disney Gold Christmas Tree will be on display through Dec. 25, at Ginza Tanaka jewelry store in Tokyo.
