World’s Most Expensive iPhone 5 case, designed by UK-brand Uunique has been unveiled by actress Mischa Barton. The company claims that its London Lotus iPhone 5 case, with the price of $302,985, is the priciest on the market.
Decorated with 18-carat rose gold, pink and white diamonds, and Italian handmade leather, this stunning iPhone case broke the previous record held by the $100,000 iPhone 5 case from The Natural Sapphire Company.
The star of the ‘The OC,’ Barton dressed in a gem-studded maxi dress with sparking headband for event, presented world’s most expensive iPod 5 case while showing off her own, reasonably-priced iPhone case designs for the British brand.
“Uunique approached me and I thought it would be a really interesting thing to design something that was both functional and fashionable,” Barton told the tech site T3.
The 26-years-old actress said that she wanted to take a fashionable approach to designing cases for the iPhone and iPad by incorporating different types of embroidery and embossing and different fabrics.
“I see a lot of use for different kinds of fake metals and Perspex, fake wood, cork and plastics and to just see what you can do,” Barton said.
“Unique by Mischa” cases start at $40 and go up to $960 dollars for a Swarovsky crystal encrusted model.
Despite her claims that she isn’t exactly a tech nut, Barton actually loves new innovations.
“I’m quite a science geek actually,” she said. “So if I see gadgets I’ll quite enjoy playing with them, but I don’t really own that many.”
