Built in 1999 by timber baron Tim Blixseth and his ex-wife Edra, 13,600-acre exclusive Yellowstone Club, which comes with a private, lift-served ski area to its membership and costs $250,000 to join, was hit hard by the financial crisis and entered bankruptcy in 2008, with the Blixseths accused of pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars from loans secured by the club’s real estate.
