The five star luxury Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach Hotel on Puerto Rico’s northern coast, roughly 15 miles west of San Juan has opened its door to guests on December 12th. The $414 million investment for the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Americas from the world famous hospitality brand include 100 guestrooms and 14 one-bedroom suites housed on the 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate.
Guests will experience an incomparable luxury through an exquisite collection of accommodations complete with outdoor shower gardens, walk-in wardrobes, deep soaking tubs and private balconies. Su Casa, a four-bedroom VIP villa overlooking the ocean, was originally erected in the 1920s for the plantation’s first owner, Clara Livingston. There is also Spa Botánico, a five-acre botanical wellness center, that offers modern treatments incorporating local Manos Santos practices, ancient local healers often referred to as ‘Holy Hands.’
For Chef José Andrés, the recent recipient of the 2011 James Beard Outstanding Chef Award, signature restaurant Mi Casa will be his first restaurant outside of the continental United States. He will fuse his knowledge of haute cooking and regional flavors to offer guests of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve a truly exceptional culinary experience in the heart of the Caribbean.
