For the first time in the brand’s history Nespresso launches its special reserve limited edition coffee, Hawaii Kona Special Reserve 2012. One of the most precious and rare coffees in the world, processed by Nespresso experts, and offered as limited edition is now available to its club members.
Made of 100% pure Hawaii Kona Arabica, that is grown on the slopes of the Hualalai and Mauna Loca volcanoes on the island of Hawaii, this one of the world’s most prestigious coffees, has a silky, hazelnut colored crema tinged with gold.
“In our endless search for the very best coffees around the world, we find small pockets of exceptional coffees, just enough in quantity to produce a Limited Edition that provide our coffee connoisseurs with new dimensions in the journey of coffee knowledge and enjoyment,” commented Karsten Ranitzsch, Head of Coffee at Nestlé Nespresso. “Kona is one of the world’s most sought after coffees for its exquisite taste but of such physical scarcity that it can only be offered as an extremely Limited Edition.”
Nespresso enhanced aromatic notes of the coffee through extraction of the finest flavors, resulting in rich flavor of fruity bouquet with subtle nutty notes and silky texture with an elegant acidity, bitterness and fragrance. On a scale of one to ten, it has a medium intensity of five.
The coffee is best served as an espresso and can also be enjoyed with a splash of milk to enhance its delicate flavour and aromatic notes. It comes sealed in a brushed aluminum capsule. The sleeve is finished in a satin mat shade of aluminum and opens from the front in a coffer style.
Nespresso has decided to extend the availability of the Hawaii Kona Special Reserve to include a limited number of high-end restaurants in 13 markets across the globe. The company also developed a dedicated Hawaii Kona Special Reserve Coffee Codex, a 12-page publication, for chefs and sommeliers.
Hawaii Kona Special Reserve is available at Nespresso Flagship Boutiques (New York, Miami and Boston), Nespresso Boutique-in-Shop locations, through the Nespresso Club and at www.Nespresso.com. A sleeve sells for $20.
