The season for gorgeous holiday windows has long burgeoned in New York. Reputable stores are competing who will have a nicer decorated showroom seeking assistance from the famous designers and artists. Cimon Art, an Australian artis, of whose work we already wrote, has decided to put up his five previously unseen works to be displayed in the window of Swarovski Crystallized New York’s concept store on Broadway.
The 450-square-meter store stretches between Broadway and Mercer Street in New York City’s SoHo district, close to Prada, Banana Republic and Bloomingdale’s, will be adorned with five sculptures, created from over thousands of Swarovski Elements, within the context of a holiday window featuring both an abstract super-sized tree and gift boxes filled with crystal designer jewelry available inside the store.
The five sculptures, part of his best known sculpture series, titled “Little Love Stories,” built of LEGO bricks coated with various material and adorned with Swarovski crystals, will be showcased as toys in the store and will be up for sale after the window is uninstalled.
The Love Bug pays homage to the Volkswagen Beetle and is made up of thousands of ruby and clear Swarovski Elements. With its gleaming silver finish, the top of this miniature car can be lifted to turn it into a convertible. Love at Sea is a stunning silver creation that includes more than 3,400 blue Swarovski Elements and evokes the romance of a glittering sea voyage. Love Comes Around is a whimsical crystal-studded carousel that comes to life with children and horses gliding up and down in time to the music. The Silver Steam is a festive holiday train that features 1,100 Swarovski Elements and brings to mind magical journeys. Lastly, High Heels is a pair of silver shoes created with 1,000 Swarovski Elements that looks like it’s come straight out of a fairytale.
