Celsius X VI II manufacturer was established by Edouard Meylan and Thomas Pruvot, whose goal was the unconventional design and new technology. The creator of the first de luxe micro-mechanical mobile phones – the Celsius X VI II LeDIX Furtif tourbillion, the Celsius X VI II one-off timepiece, the LeDIX Eternel, whose every function operates mechanically through sole physical, human-generated energy rather than electronic power, combines new technology and old tradition of Swiss clock. These models are planed to be unveiled at the prestigious Geneva Time Exhibition ‘GTE’ this January during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).
Celius X VI II OptiC GMT Furtif
The new micromechanical object of Celius X VI II is OptiC GMT Furtif and features no more than three complications : Power reserve, fibre optic GMT indication and fibre optic date indication. The hours, minutes and power reserve are indicated in the main dial and sub dial (at 3 o’clock) whereas the GMT indication is located on a small window surrounding the disk of the GMT hours and the date is displayed on the bottom of the phone in a small aperture lit by a small L.E.D. This is the effect produced by the quartz fibres that allow to capture the ambient light to display the small indication. The mechanical parts are winded by a butterfly winding system that winds the watch movement on each opening and closing (each time it add 2.23 hours of power reserve). The phone part is using a proprietary operating system with six main functions: telephony, messaging, address book, Internet sub-menu, email and camera.
This new collection will cost €76,640 ($101,200), and is available in three versions of 28 pieces. Someone will said that this innovation with stirring technology is unnecessary, but the people who pay a lot of money on such gadgete don’t think that. They want something new, something unusual, luxurious, expensive, unique, something that only makes sense for them to buy it.
