Silversea celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2014 and will launch the festivities with the luxury 2014 world cruise, where passengers will visit 54 destinations in 29 countries, enjoying 12 overnight stays along the way. Last month, Silversea Cruises announced that this luxury voyage includes a three-day stay in Yangon, Myanmar as well as overnight stays in nearby Thailand and Vietnam.
World Cruise 2014 on the 382-passenger Silver Whisper begins on Jan. 6, 2014 in Los Angeles and ends on April 30, 2014 in Barcelona. A dozen overnight calls will include Sydney and Cairns, Australia; Shanghai, China; Singapore and Istanbul, Turkey.
If someone think that 113 days is too short for World Cruise, the itinerary can be extended by adding a pre-cruise Panama Canal voyage (17 days) or by adding a voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon (7 days).
Full World Cruise guests will enjoy a variety of special amenities, including a gala Bon Voyage evening at a luxury Beverly Hills hotel, baggage valet service, complimentary Business Class air and transfers (or air credit), a generous onboard spending credit, complimentary laundry service and commemorative gifts, as well as couple of exclusive complimentary shore-side events, such as a side trip to watch the sunset over the ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia that will involve a flight from Bangkok, Thailand to Siem Reap, Cambodia and an overnight at a five-star hotel. As part of the outing, passengers will dine surrounded by the statues of Bayon Temple.
