Since its establishment, back in 1901, Vi-Spring, a luxury British bed maker sought to set the standard in handcrafting luxury beds and to keep them to this day. World’s first manufacturer of an interior sprung mattress using a system of individually pocketed springs – at the time, Vi-Spring boasts that is the first in many ways: first company to offer luxury mattresses to the steam ship industry and was on famous ships like the Titanic and Queen Mary. First company to offer a true Life-time warranty, first company to offer a double pocketed coil system, first company to offer an all wool mattress, first and only mattress manufacturer to obtain the Wool mark and first and only mattress manufacturer to win the House Beautiful Gold Award. Now, the company won’t be the first that celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, but will certainly be unique, by offering the Jubilee Bed Collection built specially to honour Her Majesty the Queen and to celebrate her 60 years as reigning Monarch.
Limited edition Jubilee Bed Collection includes three stunning designs; Jubilee Magnificence, Royal Diamond Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee. The entire collection is handmade using only supreme quality, natural materials including Platinum Certified pure British fleece wool and exclusive Real Shetland Wool, cashmere, hand-teased Moosburger horsehair and soft cotton. Covered in a choice of the finest Belgian satin fabrics or sumptuous silks, each mattress is then individually hand-stitched and finished with a commemorative embroidered design.
Vi-Spring’s Diamond Jubilee Collection is now available in Hong Kong. Only eight beds have been made, and each costs a million Hong Kong dollars (about $130,000). Also available in exceedingly limited quantities is Vi-Spring’s Swiss Dauny duvet: just nine exist in the world. This lightweight and warm duvet stuffed with Icelandic eiderdown and wrapped in pure satin woven from the finest of mulberry silks is produced in just four tons each year.
