If you want to explore Chilean Patagonia, a truly one of the most spectacular and pristine places on Earth, Patagonia Sur Reserves, Chile’s top adventure and conservation eco-tourism experience, has created a series of once-in-a-lifetime expeditions for the 2012-2013 season. All four expeditions combine scientific exploration and education with some of the most celebrated names in the adventure and photography industry.
“Patagonia Paradise” expedition is a spectacular journey with Abercrombie & Kent‘s Marco Polo Club. This journey begins in the metropolis of Santiago, travels through the Cachapoal Wine Valley, then heads to Patagonia Sur’s exclusive La Estrella Ranch at Valle California Reserve, the base for exploring native forests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and an unforgettable trip up the fjords of Glacier Alley. This 11-day, all-inclusive trip, led by South American expert guide Suzana Machado D’Oliveira, provides VIP service throughout, and the opportunity to participate in one of Patagonia Sur’s conservation projects. Trip dates are March 17 – 27, 2013, and price is $12,495 per person in double occupancy.
Other once-in-a-lifetime expeditions offered by the Patagonia Sur Reserves are: ORVIS Travel’s “Expert Adventure” – February 2 – 9, 2013 (guests will fly fish in pristine rivers and lakes with Orvis’s own Jason Elkins); “Magical Melimoyu with Céline Cousteau” – March 2 – 13, 2013. (Guests will join celebrated documentarian and oceanographer Céline Cousteau at the Melimoyu Reserve to study blue whales) and “Preserving Patagonia” – March 23 – 30, 2013 (an in-depth and hands-on conservation photography workshop led by award-winning photographer Bridget Besaw, and hosted by Leica Camera’s Akademie).
