New Mercedes CLA was first shown to the public on Sunday 13th January in Detroit. Auto appeared briefly on stage during the ceremony when the German company has announced its participation at the International Motor Show.

It was created as a modern mitigated and reduced version of Style Concept Coupe 2012. Mercedes CLA always bring refreshments in the premium compact segment design. The CLA is like other new compacts coming from the company posted on the MFA platform with front-wheel drive.
Engineers who worked on this model achieved a coefficient of only 0.23, which is, as they say in the Mercedes, a new record in the aerodynamics of the mass production of cars. Mercedes CLA is 4630 mm, width 2032 mm (with external mirrors) and 1438 mm. Although the coupe-sedan is longer than the current C-Class, its wheelbase (2700 mm) is smaller than the classic Mercedes sedans’ (C class, which is 2761 mm).
The interior is designed under the influence of new classes. On the center console is the 5.8-inch screen Mercedes’ multimedia system, black material in aluminum and high gloss accents. The luxury equipment that may be included as an option to pay extra, covers AMG styling package, together with a large panoramic sunroof, COMMAND infotainment system with GPS navigation and a premium Harman / Kardon audio devices. In advanced security technology, the Mercedes CLA will be available with system that detects driver drowsiness, followed by radar-based system that alerts drivers to the possibility of collisions and assists brake to prevent a collision, as well as Lane Departure Warning traffic will detect other vehicles in the blind spot and the driver other systems.
For customers in the U.S. new Mercedes will be available in 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine, inserted to the CLA model 250 which develope 211 hp and maximum torque of 350 Nm. Earlier it was announced that Mercedes CLA Cooperation in Europe, except for the units will be available with two petrol and one diesel variant. Basic CLA Mercedes 180 will develop 122 hp, while the CLA 200 will have 156 “horses”. The diesel version, CLA 220 CDI will be able to produce 170 hp. The most powerful variant, CLA 45 AMG will have under the hood enhanced 2.0-turbo gasoline engine with 350 hp and 450 Nm of torque. In addition to the basic version with front-wheel drive AMG model will be available with 4MATIC drive.
Mercedes-Benz will launch an advertising blitz and announce the price during the Superbowl on February 3.
