At the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled its 180th Anniversary Jubilee Collection, dedicated to its founder: “Tribute to Antoine LeCoultre”. In 180 years, the brand has given rise to 1,242 calibres and over 400 inventions. For Jubilee Collection, Swiss watchmaker has worked very hard on more closely defining the original inspiration of Antoine LeCoultre, by taking a closer look at some major expressions of each of them in order to create this 3 stellar models, of which one heralds a new line, all presented at SIHH.
The Jubilee Collection is composed of the Gyrotourbillon3 with spherical balance-spring and mechanical digital display, the Master Grande Tradition Quantième Perpétuel Tourbillon with cylindrical balance-spring and the Master Ultra Plate Jubilee featuring a 4.05 mm case making it the slimmest mechanical watch in the world.
Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon 3 Jubilee
Aesthetically directly inspired by the pocket watches produced by the Manufacture during the 19th century, Gyrotourbillon 3 Jubilee model is an authentic 21st century watchmaking sensation that now appears for the first time with a flying tourbillon, a blued gold balance and a spherical-shaped balance-spring. The brand has also achieved another feat by combining the prodigious precision of the spherical tourbillon, which immediately catches the eye at first glimpse, with the first instantaneous digital-display chronograph presented within a Grande Complication watch.
Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique à Quantième Perpétuel Jubilee
Inspired by its 19th century perpetual calendars, Jaeger-LeCoultre launches one of its finest complications within the Master Grande Tradition line, which is dedicated to collectors and devotees of the watchmaking art. This creation boasts a new automatic winding mechanical movement of Calibre 985, where the tourbillon is equipped with a cylindrical balance spring, which single-handedly embodies a miniature watchmaking revolution. Its array of design details: hour-markers, a traditional minute circle, and a silver-toned grained dial finish on the new extra-white platinum case pays tribute to the 19th century and draws inspiration from the classic pocket-watch style.
Master Ultra Thin Jubilee
At 4.05 mm thick, this stunning creation is the thinnest mechanical manual winding watch in the world. Setting a record for slenderness in the watchmaking world the ultra-thin pocket-watch created in 1907, heralded a new chapter in the history of the Grande Maison. Its “knife-shaped” ultra-thin case in extra-white platinum measuring 39 mm in diameter is the ultimate expression of a timeless minimalist philosophy. At its heart beats the mechanical manual winding movement 849, measuring a mere 1.85 mm thick, which reflects the watchmaking expertise of the Grande Maison in the field of extreme thinness. In a nod to the 180th anniversary of the Manufacture, the date 1833 placed beneath the logo will be the hallmark of the 880-piece limited series.
