We are already used to the nebulous things for wealthy snobs. Our earlier post – World’s Most Expensive Pacifier Still Waiting For A Buyer, which has described pacifier which costs a whopping $17,000, will seem insignificant compared with this new discovery. Subject matter is the same, but the amount is much, much bigger!
£54,000 ($85,000) – that’s the the world’s most expensive pacifier! Jeweller Matt Case has crafted this pacifier which was shown at bespoke jewellers Russell & Case on February 1, 2013 in Liverpool, England. The pacifier is made of pure platinum and has been created especially for the UK Baby and Toddler Show at the BT Convention Centre, Liverpool. It weighs 250 gr, and is valued more than five times as much as our previous subject of ridicule.
Mr Case said: “We wanted to make something that would stand out and something that was completely unique. That’s why we decided to take an everyday object and put our own spin on it so the platinum dummy was born.”
We are left only to wonder what is the purpose of £54,000 dummy, which by the way is made of platinum? Sucking?
If you don’t agree with me, and you don’t find that only dummy can buy this dummy, then OK! But, just like O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi,” you’d have to sell your kid to afford one. [Luxury Launches]
