For this year’s SIHH 2013 show luxury watchmaker Cartier has shared its offerings into three distinct chapters; the Les Heures Mysterieuses de Cartier, the Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier and Cartier d’Art Collections. This time we’ll deal with Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier, a range that remains true to the brand’s tradition of expertise, sophistication and craftsmanship. Gorgeous collection of 41 authentic jewelry watchmaking pieces, of which 23 are unique represents metamorphosis of time, watches that can play any role, now a brooch, now a pendant, now a watch – or all three at a time.
Jewelry watches, each with its own secret use animals as the main theme including, of course, the panther, snake and tropical birds, are present as well as more unusual creatures such as turtles and even little frogs.
A diamond studded beauty, its highlight is Cartier Panthère Divine Watch in rhodium-plated 18K white gold set with brilliant-cut diamonds, enamel spots. A black strap and a double adjustable folding buckle in 18K white gold set with brilliant-cut diamonds lend it further elegance.
Cartier Fabuleux Peacock watch, a numbered edition limited to 60 pieces. The 18K white gold rhodium-plated case is set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The eyes are set with a sapphire and the flower in ruby crystal. A leaf in carved nephrite jade along with the mother-of-pearl marquetry, carved and enameled flowers in rhodium-coated 18K white gold, give it that exquisite look.
Cartier Tortue Secret Watch, diamond-paved version. A beautiful surprise when you open the bejeweled case, the eyes are set with emeralds and the silvered flinqué dial, with translucent lacquer, brilliant-cut diamond marker, hands in rhodium-plated steel, looks stunning. The strap is in black brushed calfskin.
