BMW has unveiled its new model 3 Series Gran Turismo. This car follows the concept of the BMW 5-series GT, and buyers will have a choice of five engines and two types of transmission system.
BMW will offer the market a new model that causes opposing views for fans of this German car brands. The reason why they decided for the GT version of 3-Series is that the BMW are finding the need to combine sports-sedan and the dynamic properties of the space and convenience of a station wagon.
New 3 Series Gran Turismo unless specific design features and body shape which is between a sedan and station wagon is equipped with a rear spoiler that is hidden in the tailgate. Aerodynamic flap is pulled automatically at speeds above 66mph and returns to its original position when the car speed falls below 45mph.
As with most new BMW models, the GT Series 3 will be available in three trim levels: Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. Besides them, also will be offered the M Sport package, which consists of aerodynamic and cosmetic supplements, sports suspension and specially designed 18 inch alloy. In addition to extra space for passengers in the cabin, compared with the 3-Series sedan, the GT will have a considerably larger luggage compartment volume of 520, up to 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The petrol engines include the first two 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo unit with 184 hp and 270 Nm and 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque, and the 3.0-liter six-cylinder that develops 306 hp and 400 Nm. Range of powertrains round out the two 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine. The weaker version is able to produce 143 hp and 320 Nm, while the more powerful 184 hp and 380 Nm. BMW 3 Series GT will have a six-speed manual transmission as standard, while depending on the type of engine in some models as an option to be available eight shift automatic transmission.
The 2014 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo will debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in early March 2013th.
