Rolls-Royce is on the eve of the start of the Geneva Motor Show released the first official photos and technical details of its new coupe, the model Wraith. That is now the most powerful and fastest production car of British manufacturer. When the company as Rolls-Royce described the new model as “a high-performance sedan,” it carries more weight than when you hear something like that from the manufacturer’s representative of “ordinary” cars. Their cars already have the title of top-notch, on the basis of such notice we belive that the Wraith is really something special.
Rolls Royce Wraith limousine is based on the Ghost, and hence the similar name (the word “wraith” means a ghost or a spirit). Designers have tried to keep on Wraith all the elegance and luxury of a Rolls Royce, with sporty and dynamic look of a coupe. The hood, roof and trunk lid are all in one color, while the rest of the body is in a darker shade. Another interesting place is the door that opens on the wrong side, back. In relation to the Ghost, coupe is shorter.
The car is 5269 mm long, 1947 mm wide and 1507 mm high. Wheelbase is 3112 mm, which still guarantees plenty of space for passengers, both front and rear. Compared to the sedan, the car have modified suspension and power steering assists whose control increases when the vehicle turns at lower speeds, making it easy to maneuver in the city center, while at higher speeds on the open road wheel is slightly “heavier”. The interior is designed in the style of Ghost model. A driver has available Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) system that use GPS to determine the configuration of the road and automatically select the appropriate gear lever.
The new coupe is powered by 6.6 lite twin-turbo V12 engine that was taken from the Ghost model. The engine is now capable of producing 633 hp and maximum torque of 800 Nm. The extra power allows the 2360 kg heavy car to the station to a speed of 60 mph comes in 4.4 seconds. Top speed for the coupe has not been announced. The engine is paired with eight shift ZF automatic transmission, and power is transmitted to the rear wheels.
Rolls Royce Wraith has its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, and will be on sale in the fall 2013 at a price which will range from $320,000.
