The long-awaited Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has finally opened its doors two days ago. Newest member of Ritz-Carlton Family is the first resort in Abu Dhabi and and the ninth property in the Middle East for the hotel operator.
The stunning complex spreads over 57-acre and consists of ten buildings arranged in a crescent formation surrounding a landscaped lawn peppered with water features and the signature feature — a 1600m² swimming pool, one of the largest in UAE. Located at the waterfront, the hotel is inspired by 15th to early 17th Century Renaissance architecture and has a distinctly Venetian feel. The backdrop of the hotel is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The building is designed by architect Otak International with interiors by Sfa Design.

The hotel has 447 guestrooms and suites, in addition to 85 private one- and two-bedroom villas, 10 restaurants, 2182m² of meeting space, 1,550m² Roma ballroom that seats 900, lawns with capacity to hold events for 5000 people and 1000 staff. All accommodation units come with outdoor terraces, separate arrival palazzo and private butler service.
The Ritz-Carlton Club Level provides a dedicated concierge, private check-in, plus five food and beverage offerings throughout the day within an exclusive lounge boasting panoramic views of the property, canal and city skyline.
The Spa is set to open in early 2014, it promises to be an all-encompassing Abu Dhabi spa, which provides holistic rejuvenation and relaxation. The spa will stretch out over 21,500 square feet and will cater to men an women in 15 private treatment rooms. What makes this unique from other spas is that also included is a private beach and plunge pool.
