What do you get when connect fashion and ice cream? Neither more nor less but 24-karat gold dress, worth $1.5 million. American fashion designer, Zac Posen teamed up with Magnum Ice Cream to create this stunning custom dress, specialy for launching brand’s newest ice cream bar.
Inspired by melting ice cream, an evening gown boasts over 10,000 hand-embroidered 24K gold sequins in various sizes. It took two weeks to sew the sequins on the dress using a hand-embroidered technique.
The 32-year-old Project Runway judge said wryly: “Creating my first-ever 24 karat-gold dress was a truly priceless experience. I’m naturally drawn to luxury and love to push my creativity, so the design process of creating a couture dress made of gold was thrilling. I pulled inspiration from MAGNUM Gold?! for the dress design…the train reminds me of melting ice cream. The dress is so decadent.”
The gold dress will make its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 18th in a short film for Magnum starring Joe Manganiello. In the movie, called As Good As Gold, Manganiello plays a sexy, tuxedo-wearing thief whose heist is thwarted by a supermodel in a catsuit. But even he admits that the most distracting thing on set wasn’t Brazilian beauty Caroline Correa, but instead, the stunning 24-karat sequin dress Posen created just for the spot.
