Toshiba is known for its laptops in lower and middle segments. In order to present their name in the best light, the company decided to introduce a new line of gear for the most demanding users.
New KIRAbook line delivers high-end Windows 8 Ultrabook with magnesium body and should compete with the MacBook Air notebook. Toshiba currently has only one unit in line, and it’s 13.3-inch, which comes in three variants. Home and basic version will cost $1,599.99, while the most powerful model will be more expensive and will cost $1,999.99.
13.3-inch screen has an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is significantly more than most ultrabook, but still slightly lower than the MacBook Air who has a 2560 x 1600 pixels. With an extremely high resolution, KIRAbook Ultrabook comes with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, depending on which version you choose. There is also a 256 GB SSD, which should be enough for most users. There will be at least 8 GB 1600 MHz of RAM. If you are an advanced user, Toshiba has decided to give away 25 GB of cloud space.
The most impressive thing about the 13.3-inch KIRAbook is its design, which is significantly less than the MacBook Air. New premium brand has a new lightweight, compact design that is made of magnesium, two-year warranty plus a free Platinum Support. KIRAbook will be available to order 3 May, and will be available for delivery on the 12 May.
