Land Rover is celebrating its sixty-fifth anniversary with a special event that will also include the presentation of a special edition Defender models LXV, which stands for the number 65 in Roman numerals. Not surprising that Land Rover has decided to base this special edition of the Defender model, because it is the best-selling car from Rover.
This model was sold in over two million units since its official launch. New Defender LXV can be ordered in either Santorini Black or Fuji White black white. Both colors will have a contrasting gray roof, radiator grille and headlights frames, plus set of Sawtooth 16 “wheels.
For the interior, Land Rover has decided to provide a unique stitching on the seats with orange contrast, steering wheel and the central section. There are also LXV logos on front arm rests.
The special edition model is based on the Land Rover Defender, which packs a 2.2-liter diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual generating 122 hp and 266 pound-feet of torque.
The very first Series I Land Rover will also be on display alongside a host of versatile Land Rovers used over the years by the military, emergency services and royal family. Joining them will be models from the current line-up, including a Range Rover Evoque with a 9-speed automatic transmission – a world first for a passenger car. Prices for the LXV Defender in the UK will start from $45,000.
