Finally, $2 Million Dark Knight Themed Home Theater by Elite Home Theater Seating got a rival. That’s the Crimson Home Theater, worth amazing $3 million. Gorgeously crafted 8,000 sq ft interior space has been designed by custom electronics (CE) professional Jason Voorhees of Cantara in Costa Mesa, California and Laguna Beach-based home theatre designer Slayman Cinema. This home theater has seen more use in one year than most do in a lifetime.
“They haven’t even had the theater for a year, and we’ve already had to replace the lamp on the projector, which is rated for 2,000 hours of use,” Voorhees says.
Inspired by a simple piece of red fabric, this stunning theater features 13 reference-grade speakers and 5 sub woofers – together providing an astronomical 8,400 watts of earth-scattering audio. For complete experience, this beauty is complemented by an 18 ft wide custom-built screen from Stewart Filmscreen.
Respecting the wishes of the contracting authority, designers took care for every detail. Even the fabric material was treated so as to improve its acoustic credentials. “Since the material wasn’t acoustically transparent it would have dampened sound from the speakers. Collaborating with Slayman Cinema, small “portholes” were cut from the fabric and covered with decorative grilles,” Voorhees explained.
