Few days ago Christie’s held its Important Watches sale in Geneva which brought world record for any Rolex wristwatch at auction. This ultra rare timepiece, Rolex Ref. 4113 from 1942 sold for $1,161,436. Also Patek Philippe model, Ref. 3448 from 1981 set a new world record with the price of $1,702,044 and thus was the most valuable lot of the sale.
Buyers from 40 different countries across five continents have participated at Christie’s Geneva auction sale which fetched a total result of $22,608,583.
Also at Antiquorum’s “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” auction held on Sunday, May 12th at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Geneva, a unique Patek Philippe, “Sky Moon Tourbillon” (Ref. 5002) in pink gold with a special order case features two dials and 12 complications, is sold for an amazing $1.2 million, while Rolex Daytona Paul Newman Watches, Ref. 6263 sold for $870,000, nearly three times its low estimate, and the world’s highest price ever achieved for a Rolex Daytona.
