At the recent Watch trade fair in Basel, Christophe Claret has introduced a new version of the unique X-TREM-1 model called Pinball, which should be sold at the “Only Watch 2013” auction. The new X-Treme-1 model now has on both sides a metal cage in pinball style, where there are two balls, magnet driven which indicates the hours and minutes.
On the watch is rectangular “dial”, through which you can see the dials decorated in the same style as the rest of the class. At the top of the case is the inevitable “Tilt” label. As in the original model, and here is winding and setting perform at the back of the chassis, and has a flying tourbillon, positioned at an angle of 30 °. XTREM initials come from, X-eXperimental, T-Time, R-Research, E-Engineering and M-Mechanism. The technology involved into the making is extraordinary, while the watch itself is a unique artwork.
The Christophe Claret X-TREM-1 Pinball watch will be found in the already mentioned 2013 Only Watch auction in September in Monaco, along with 24 unique models of other manufacturers. It is expected to fetch about $300,000-$500,000.
