RM Auctions is announced a selection for its annual flagship sale in Monterey, California, August 16-17. At the auction will be presented such classics as Ferraris, Maserati, Duesenberg and Mercedes-Benz. RM Auction is the global leader in the presentation of Ferraris at auction, having offered more important Ferraris than any other auction house, and many owners recognize that there is no better place to sell investment-grade cars than at Monterey sale.
Eight cars from the Estate of the late William H. Tilley, a well-known collector, will be offered. The collection features a rare 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider Series I by Pinin Farina, which is estimated to $2,750,000 – $3,250,000, a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta, a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4, a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS, a 1987 Ferrari Testarossa, a 1990 Ferrari F40, a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 and a 2010 Ferrari California.
Other Ferraris handpicked for RM’s Monterey sale and offered alongside the William H. Tilley Collection include a 1995 Ferrari F50 estimated to $1,250,000 – $1,600,000, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series II with pre-sale estimate of $1,200,000 – $1,500,000.
As for Maserati, there will be 1960 Maserati Type 61 ‘Birdcage’ who is estimated to a whooping $3,000,000 – $4,000,000, 1953 Maserati A6G/2000 Spyder with exquisite coachwork by Frua. The only A6G Frua Spyder fitted with a side exhaust system is etimated to $800,000 – $1,200,000.
Among others there also will be a 1935 Hispano-Suiza K6 Cabriolet by Brandone and a 1931 Duesenberg Model SJ Convertible Coupe by Murphy. The Hispano-Suiza is estimated to $1,500,000 – $2,000,000 and Duesenberg to $2,000,000 – $2,500,000.
Other notable early entries secured for RM’s Monterey sale include: 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L (Est. $1,100,000 – $1,400,000), 1986 Porsche 962 Racing Car (Est. $900,000 – $1,100,000), 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS (Est. $800,000 – $1,000,000), 1969 Ferrari 365 GTC by Pininfarina ( Est. $750,000 – $900,000), 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster ( Est. $900,000 – $1,100,000).
