Georgian Manor House in County Kildare, Ireland, built in 1785 by Lord Cloncurry, and purchased in 1996 BY Dr.Tony Ryan, owner of the discount airline Ryanair, is still on sale. Its value in 2010 was $100 milion and these days it is fallen to $39milion.
Dr. Ryan spent around $120 million on the restoration project. Dr. Ryan passed away in 2007 and the estate has been on the market since. It is currently listed by Christies with about 300 acres of land. It was also listed by Christies in 2010 with 600 acres of land. Guessing that the other 300 acres has been sold separately.
Anyway the Lyons Demesne Estate sited on approximately 120 fertile hectares, or nearly 300 acres, as a striking example of classic Georgian architecture. The symmetry and proportions of the house are reflected in the composition of its formal gardens, establishing an ambience of timeless harmony and elegance.
The historic manor is in impeccable condition and boasts opulently appointed reception rooms, a wine cellar, a private cinema, a billiards room, an indoor swimming pool and eleven bedroom suites.
