What do you think about shoes with Midas touch. Alberto Moretti had that in mind when designed world’s first wearable 24-karat gold shoes. In collaboration with HORO, a brand that has also made gold leaf T-shirts, Moretti who can count Jessica Chastain, Cameron Diaz and Elle Macpherson among his celeb fans, unveiled one pair of gold heels for women, and one pair of loafers for the guys.
Each is covered in velvet and drenched in 24-karat gold.
As expected of a designer shoe covered in precious metal, a pair does not come cheap. According to the brand’s Facebook page, the shoes will be available for purchase exclusively at five places around the world: Barneys in New York, Fred Segal in L.A., the Swank in Hong Kong, Level Shoe District in Dubai, and Harrods in London with prices starting at £1,700 ($2,650).
