The world begins to learns about cognac, due to trade in wine and salt, when traders with their supplies of salt for Norway, England and the Netherlands, began to export wine from this region.
As the wine due to the large volume, volatility, and perishability was difficult to transport, Dutch traders and local growers came up with the idea that wine is distilled and thus create a product less volume, much more convenient for transportation.
Decree in 1909 was determined to be a cognac drink whose ingredients must undergo a complex method of turning grapes into wine, then wine eau – de – vie (water of life), and that all this must be done only in Cognac, France.
Hennessy company with annual sales of 50 million bottles, or more than 40 percent of the world cognac, is a true market leader. They revealed new latest limited edition of cognacs, the Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection VI and the Hennessy Paradis Imperial which break the barriers of everything.
In collaboration with Lane Crawford, presenter and seller, this exlusive limited edition cognac will be available for purchase on 15 July, at the Lane Crawford boutique in the IFC Mall in Hong Kong, and store at Canton Road. Acclaimed designer Stephanie Balini created faceted-shape bottle embellished with an 18-carat gold-plated label.
The Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection VI will be available in 70cl bottles for $2,350 or 150cl for $5,500. The wonderful Hennessy Paradis Imperial though costs a more massive $19,800.
