Auctions America will offer, 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, at the upcoming auction in California from August 1-3, 2013. Car has 4,390-cc, 352-hp, DOHC V-12 engine, six Weber carburetors, five-speed manual transaxle, independent front and rear suspension by coil springs and wishbones, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes.
The Ferrari Daytona is originally finished in Rossa Chiaro (red) in color, with Nero (black) and Rossa Corso (red) leather interior. Chassis 14019 was built as “Assembly Sequence Number 372” and fitted with “Scaglietti Body Number 384”. The order came from Luigi Chinetti Motors which requested a normal USA model finished in Rosso Corsa with black and red interior. Chinetti sold the car for $12,820 at that time. The car was then purchased by a New York resident and remained with the same family until 1994 when it was sold to Japan. In 1996 it was on display at the TI Circuit in Aida, Japan where it was part of a display by Takao Sagagawa Museum Collection. In 2000 it was offered for sale by Mitsuru Takahashi’s Trading Company in Tokyo, Japan.
The car was recently purchased and brought to California from Japan. The 365 GTB/4 Daytona maintains its glorious status among the sports car elite and is a cultural icon in its own right.
