Mercedes recently in Sindelfingen plant in Germany officially started production of the new S-class W222, and on this occasion it was announced a few videos that show the production of the sedan. In one of the videos, however, was appeared the new S63 AMG, which was still not have an official promotion. Now Mercedes has been finally officially released official photos and full details on the new S63 AMG model.
The new S63 AMG under the hood has a 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo engine with 430 kW/585HP at 5500 r / min. and 900 Nm of torque at 2250-3750 r / min., paired with the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission with three modes, C, (Controlled Efficiency), S, (Sport) and M, (Manual). There will be a S63 AMG with standard wheelbase and S63 AMG with long wheelbase, while the latter will be available in versions with 4MATIC permanent four-wheel. S63 AMG (with standard and long-wheelbase) from 0 to 60mph comes in 4.4 seconds, and S63 AMG 4MATIC for exactly 4.0 seconds.
Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph, but will be available driver’s package, which includes a top speed of 186mph. The new S63 AMG is 100 pounds lighter than its predecessor and so basic S63 AMG weighs 1970 kg, but S63 AMG with long wheelbase has 1995 kg. Of course, there are the AMG aero body package with AMG 19-inch wheels (tires 255/45 R 19 and 285/40 R 19 wheels and optional 20-inch shod with 255/40 R 20 and 285/35 R 20), modified suspension, stronger brakes (optional AMG are carbon-ceramic brakes), sport exhaust system, and dressed up the interior.
Buyers will inter alia be available and Magic Body Control, ATTENTION ASSIST, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, COMAND Online, PRE-SAFE PLUS and much more. The official world premiere of the new S63 AMG will be held in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the S63 AMG will start from $196,612 ($200,203 for the version with a longer wheelbase).
